E.J. Scott ‘s recruiting card

E.J. Scott and his Good Counsel (Olney, MD) teammates went out winners last Saturday, defeating powerful DeMatha Catholic to capture the WCAC Championship. Good Counsel had never won the WCAC title and had lost to DeMatha in five straight WCAC title games until last Saturday. Finally capturing the championship is pretty sweet for Scott, a 5-11, 175-pound senior wide receiver/defensive back.

“It sounds good. It’s definitely a change. We’ve lost to DeMatha like five times in a row or something, so it feels good coming out on top,” Scott said. “I’m probably still a little in shock, but everyone is still talking about it. This is a big deal to everyone in the community.

“It means a lot because we came up short so many times. We won. It was the most important one for me because it was my last game. I’m glad things went out the way they did.”
