Michael Strauss enjoyed a unique situation on Monday, getting to meet Mike London just prior to London’s introduction as University of Virginia head coach. The 6-3, 215-pound Gulliver Prep (Miami, FL) senior quarterback was concluding an unofficial visit that began on Saturday, and meeting with Virginia’s new coach sealed his decision to commit to the Cavaliers.
“I could definitely tell that he was a guy I wanted to play for,” Strauss said of London. “He came off to me as a players coach, a guy I can relate to. He was at Virginia when [Gulliver Prep Head] Coach [Earl] Sims was there. Coach Sims has said nothing but good things about him. They both teach a lot of the same things.”
