Stone Bridge (Ashburn, VA) defensive end/tight end Rob Burns now has five scholarship offers in the fold, with the latest being from the University of Maryland. Maryland joins Duke, Stanford, Virginia and Wake Forest on the list of official offers for the 6-7, 220-pound junior.

“It’s still really early in the process, and I haven’t made any final decisions, but I like all five schools,” said Burns, who learned of his latest offer while attending Maryland’s junior day this past Saturday. “All have something unique going for them.”

The past few months have been busy for Burns, who has taken visits to Duke, Maryland, Virginia and Wake Forest in that span. The visit to Virginia happened over a month ago, on January 16. He reflected on the experience and gave his take on the Virginia program.

“I think they’re still a really young program,” Burns said. “It might be a while until they get it going. When I was down there, coach London was still hiring people. They’ve had a little bit of time to set everything up and hire everybody. I’d like to try to take another visit now.”
