Dunbar WR Has UVa Offer

Dunbar (Washington, D.C.) head coach Craig Jefferies stopped by the University of Virginia on Saturday to watch a spring practice, but he was not alone. He was accompanied by one of his newest players in wide receiver prospect Daniel Adams , a 6-3, 200-pound junior who transferred from Northwest High School (Germantown, MD) to Dunbar several months ago. Virginia has offered Adams, a player Jefferies is very high on.

“He came from a Wing T offense that didn’t throw the ball a lot,” Jefferies said. “He’ll have to make that adjustment here, but I’m excited about having him. I think he is going to blow up. I think he’ll be as highly recruited as some of the other guys to come out of here.

“Physically, Daniel passes the eye test. [The Virginia coaches] got a chance to look at some video on him and Coach London and I talked about him. Coach London and I talked and he knows we’re pretty solid in the kids we produce and in our ability to recognize talent. Plus, Shawn [Moore] actually saw him play, so he had seen him before in action.”

Virginia extended the scholarship offer prior to Saturday’s visit. The standout prospect had visited Charlottesville earlier this year for a junior day and will return again this coming Saturday for UVa football’s Spring Festival. What is Adams’ interest level in the Cavaliers?
