Hampton (VA) junior quarterback David Watford was no stranger to the University of Virginia’s Grounds when he visited this past Saturday, but he came away impressed by what he saw out of Mike London’s football program. The 6-1, 185-pound Crabbers standout, a cousin of former UVa quarterback/wide receiver Marques Hagans, was visiting for the first time since receiving an official offer from the Cavaliers.

“I had a lot of fun up there with the coaches and seeing the new regime,” Watford said. “Talking to the coaches, they just made me feel at home when I got up there and got to meet them. They were all real nice.”

Watford received positive feedback from the Virginia players.

“I wanted to see how things were different with Coach London from Coach Groh,” Watford said. “All the players like Coach London and what he brings to the table. I talked to [former Phoebus standout] LoVante Battle. We’re real close and he said they all really like Coach London. He lets them have fun. He said Coach London is a real good coach and I liked him from what I saw yesterday.”
