Massive Tackle Visits UVa

6-8, 280-pound offensive tackle Keith Lumpkin stopped by Charlottesville on Sunday, making the University of Virginia the latest in a series of college visits this year. Accompanied by his parents, the St. Peter’s Prep (Jersey City, N.J.) star junior toured the grounds, the football facilities and Scott Stadium, learned more about the academics and met and watched film with head coach Mike London.

“When I went there, I really enjoyed it,” Lumpkin said. “Virginia has a nice big campus. I couldn’t ask for any better academics. My parents like it a lot. Coach London seemed like a great coach and it seems like he is going to lead the program in a good direction.”

Virginia wasn’t the only visit Lumpkin made last week. He also traveled to Chapel Hill on Friday to check out UNC.

“I liked UNC, too,” Lumpkin said. “My teammate, Savon Huggins, was telling me about UNC and telling me great things about it. UNC has a great campus. All the coaches are very cool. It’s a program that has shown it is going in a positive direction.”
