UVa Currently On Top For Bird’s Harris

Rising senior cornerback/wide receiver Anthony Harris will likely make a commitment before the start of L.C. Bird’s (Chesterfield, VA) preseason practice, which begins on August 9. In fact, it wouldn’t be a surprise if a decision comes sooner rather than later.

“I think we’re still looking at August 1 or right around there, before we start our preseason practice,” Skyhawks head coach David Bedwell said of when his prized prospect may make commit. “He has been visiting a couple of places. He has been to Virginia and Maryland a few times. This week he has already stopped by West Virginia for a couple of days. I think he is just trying to see where he fits in best.

“I think Anthony has enjoyed the recruiting process, but at the same time I think he’d like to have it behind him.”

Harris is considering official scholarship offers from Connecticut, Louisville, Maryland, Richmond, Virginia and West Virginia. Connecticut, which offered within the past few weeks, and Louisville may be in line for visits from the central Virginia star soon.
