UVa One Of 19 Offers For N.J. Star

Tanner McEvoy was on the receiving end of passes last season as a junior and finished the year with 35 receptions for 426 yards and 10 scores. The 6-5, 200-pound standout will reverse roles this upcoming season for Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.) and new head coach Nunzio Campanile.

“There are big changes coming for me for my senior season,” McEvoy said. “I will be playing quarterback and in on every play. I am a captain and will be a role model and leader for our team.

“I have been working at the quarterback position this spring and can’t wait to get out on the field. I am really liking the position so far and we’ll see how it goes during the season. I know I can play wide receiver and tight end.”

College coaches have been impressed with McEvoy’s junior season highlight film. Specifically, the Garden State standout says that coaches “like my vision on the field, how I move, my size and athleticism.”
