Profile: New OL Commit Tim Cwalina

Before heading home from an unofficial visit to the University of Virginia on Thursday, Mount Lebanon (Pittsburgh, PA) offensive tackle prospect Tim Cwalina verbally committed to Cavaliers head coach Mike London. Not surprisingly according to his coach, the 6-7 1/2, 295-pound rising senior was back at Mount Lebanon Friday morning for summer workouts.

“Last year, one thing that impressed me the most was his improvement from the first game of the season to the end of the season,” Mount Lebanon head coach Chris Haering said. “The strides he made in terms of technique and overall dominance, it was a credit to him. He is a tireless worker. He did a lot of the little things you need to do to get better last year.”

Former Mount Lebanon star tight end Andrew Devlin , who signed with UVa in the 2007 class but transferred to Pittsburgh before the start of his junior year, was known for a quality work ethic as well.

“I think Tim is the same type of young man,” Haering said. “Tim is an aggressive kid. He wants to be a high achiever. He doesn’t say much, which is unlike Andrew. Andrew is a very outgoing young man. Tim is a little quieter. He’ll get after it, but he is not going to say much out there.”
