Hoo Preview 2010: Blair’s Fourth-Year Wish List

2007: Happy players, happy fans. Yay!

As a lifelong college football fan, I’ve been through my fair share of highs and lows. Even before I became a student and supporter of the Cavaliers, I felt the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat as a fan of another, unnamed ACC program (I have an older brother, so sue me). I remember joyously celebrating the derailment of Virginia Tech’s National Championship hopes in the 2000 Sugar Bowl at the hands of the legendary Bobby Bowden and his Florida State Seminoles (Bobby, you gained a fan for life from that one victory alone).

I also vividly recall a horrific loss unfolding before my very eyes the following fall, when that as-yet-unnamed ACC school lost to rivals Georgia Tech on a touchdown with 7 seconds to go in the fourth quarter. That single example of blown coverage by the cornerback still haunts me to this day, and I was 11 years old.
