Hill Recalls UVa Visit, Talks Future Plans

Over the course of last weekend, Newton (Covington, GA) linebacker prospect D.J. Hill toured the Grounds, the football facilities, saw a practice and met with head coach Mike London. The 6-1, 220-pound rising senior said he “had a real good feeling” about the overall experience.

“The location is real nice. I didn’t think it would be like it is,” said Hill, who arrived on Saturday and left on Sunday. “I loved everything about it. The academics are real good. The academics are some of the best in the country. The stadium is nice. The locker room is nice.”

Practice was “up-tempo,” said Hill, an outside linebacker target of the Hoos. “The coaches were telling me that the players get in shape from the tempo of the practice. That’s their philosophy. They play fast on defense. That’s the way I like to play. They run a 4-3, which is good. I think the defense would fit me pretty good.”

Linebackers coach Vincent Brown also serves as Hill’s primary recruiter. What did the Peach state standout think after seeing his potential future position coach in action?
