It’s decision time for 6-8, 210-pound senior power forward Darion Atkins . The Landon School (Bethesda, MD) star is expected to announce for Notre Dame or the University of Virginia on Friday, days after taking official visits to both schools. Has a decision been made?

“No,” Landon School head coach Andy Luther answered on Thursday morning. “I don’t think his mind is made up at all. He is working very hard, doing it the right way. He’s talking with his mother a lot. He is talking with me and Coach Parker and the people most important in his life. He is weighing everything.”

Atkins’ first official visit came last weekend to Notre Dame. He followed that up with a trip to UVa on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

“The visits were both excellent,” Luther said. “They were both fantastic. He loves both schools and both sets of coaches. The visits solidified him knowing that these are the schools he wants to choose from. [Notre Dame] Coach [Mike] Brey visited yesterday and Coach Bennett is coming in today. Other than that, he is doing the pros and cons list and trying to figure it out.”
