Football Recruiting’s Final Stretch

Just over three weeks remain until National Signing Day, and head coach Mike London still has room in what is his first full recruiting class as Cavaliers head coach. The class is already highly regarded, coming in the top 30 nationally by ESPN.com (#21), Scout.com (#22), and Rivals.com (#28), but there is work left to be done.

Virginia’s big recruiting weekend is January 21-23, when many commitments and two targets are scheduled to make official visits. This weekend is significant as well, though, with three remaining targets set to make official visits to other schools.

Irving (TX) defensive end Horace Arkadie will visit Arkansas, Hermitage (Richmond, VA) linebacker Curtis Grant will visit Florida, and Gilman (Baltimore, MD) athlete Darius Jennings is set to visit Wake Forest. Arkadie and Jennings could have decisions make sooner rather than later, while Grant is reportedly set to make a Signing Day decision.

The following five prospects are firmly on Virginia’s radar as Signing Day approaches. Info changes daily and names can pop up and come off the board quickly this time of year, but for now these five prospects appear to be the definitive targets Virginia has a real shot with in this late stage.
