Virginia First To Offer PA Signal Caller

In two seasons as the Central Catholic (Allentown, PA) varsity starting quarterback, 6-2, 195-pound junior Brendan Nosovitch has certainly made a name for himself. In his first season as a starter, the then sophomore threw for over 2,000 yards and rushed for over 1,000. As a junior, Nosovitch compiled 4,758 yards (3,111 yards passing and 1,647 rushing) and 68 touchdowns (43 passing, 25 rushing) while guiding Central Catholic to an undefeated season and the PIAA Class 3A state championship.

Nosovitch has received plenty of accolades for his play, including 2010 Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year and a first-team selection on the ESPN Junior All-American team (as a multi-purpose player). Major FBS college coaches have taken notice, and University of Virginia head coach Mike London has extended a scholarship offer.

“They were recruiting me throughout the [2010] season. Towards the end of the season, they decided to offer me,” Nosovitch said of the Cavaliers. He is also receiving interest from Boston College, Maryland, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Penn State, Rutgers and South Carolina.

“They said they really like how I played. They like my toughness and think I would fit in well with what they do. They run a pro-style offense. It will be good to talk to them. I’m hoping to meet more of the coaching staff.”
