Richlands’ Hess Updates Recruitment

Offensive lineman Josh Hess is drawing interest from at least four ACC schools in addition to holding an offer from Marshall University. The University of Virginia, one of the four ACC programs seriously involved, plans to evaluate the 6-7, 295-pound Richlands (VA) product further this spring.

“Coach [Scott] Wachenheim contacted [Richlands Head] Coach [Greg] Mance and said he would be stopping by in the spring to see me workout,” Hess said.

Virginia high schools cannot hold spring practice, but Hess plans to do a workout in front of college coaches during the coming Evaluation period, which begins April 15 and lasts through the end of May. Hess has been impressed with Marshall and speaks with his primary recruiter there on a weekly basis, but at this point he will wait to see what other opportunities may arise.

“I’m still waiting for the right school to come along,” he said. “That’s not to say Marshall isn’t the right school. It’s just that I want to see if I get a few more offers and go from there.”
