Briar Woods (Ashburn, VA) head coach Charlie Pierce has been involved in coaching for over 20 years. Of junior athlete Alex Carter , the longtime coach said, “He is head and shoulders above any others in terms of being a true student athlete. On the field, he passes the eye-ball test. He was a junior captain. He is the whole package as far as what you’re looking for as far as a Division 1 college player.”

Carter, described by Pierce as a player with good size, speed, and versatility, started at cornerback his sophomore and junior seasons. He delivered in all three phases of the game this past season, playing a major role for the eventual Group AA, Division 4 state champion Falcons.
