Virginia Continues Pursuit Of WR Severin

Canaan Severin will take the field for Worcester Academy (Worcester, MA) again on August 22, which is the start of preseason practice. The 6’3″, 210-pound rising senior wide receiver hopes to see a few college preseason practices in the meantime, mentioning Boston College, Penn State and Virginia as possible visit destinations in the month of August.

Those three schools are very much in contention for Severin, who listed a handful of schools he is still considering.

“I’m looking at Virginia, Boston College, Penn State, Iowa and U-Conn, but Michigan State and Missouri offered me three weeks ago and I’m looking into both of them,” said Severin, who listed the schools in no particular order. He had double-digit FBS offers before narrowing the field some.

Severin has not set any official visits, though he says he is supposed to be in touch with Penn State’s coaches regarding an official visit there. From Virginia, defensive coordinator Jim Reid serves as the standout prospect’s primary recruiter and seems to have built a good relationship to this point.
