East Carolina sent an official scholarship offer to Lake Taylor (Norfolk, VA) safety/wide receiver Mike Tyson last Friday, becoming the third school to officially offer the 6’2″, 180-pound prospect. Penn State and the University of Virginia earlier mailed official offer letters, and at this point the Nittany Lions and Cavaliers continue to sit atop the standout senior’s list.

“They are still at the top,” confirmed Tyson, referring to Penn State and UVa.

“It’s still the same thing.”

Tyson has received phone calls from all three of the schools that have offered. Maryland coaches have been in touch as well and have invited the promising prospect to this weekend’s contest against West Virginia. Tyson has yet to take a college visit this fall, and at this point nothing is scheduled.
