Hackenberg Picks Up Major Offer

Fork Union Prep (VA) junior quarterback Christian Hackenberg scored offers from UVa and Tennessee before the start of his junior season. Rutgers, the school the 6’4″, 200-pound prospect made an unofficial visit to last weekend, came through with an offer at the end of FUMA’s season. Hackenberg scored his fourth offer this week, and it comes from one of the nation’s top programs.

“I have offers from Tennessee, Virginia, Rutgers and Alabama. I’m talking to a couple of other schools, like South Carolina and Arkansas. I’m still waiting to figure out what North Carolina is going to do. Miami is in there. I’m going to send some schools more film, like Notre Dame, to see what type of interest they have.”

Hackenberg provided his reaction to the offer from Nick Saban’s program. He traveled to Tuscaloosa for Alabama’s showdown against LSU earlier this season.

“I felt blessed, and I was just excited,” Hackenberg said. “It’s kind of hard to explain with the type of competition they play against and the level they’ve played on. I was honored to get the offer.”
