UVa Recruits Show Well In Chesapeake Bowl

Andre Miles-Redmond put in a lot of work last offseason, earning the respect of Hermitage (Richmond, VA) coaches and players en route to being named one of two team captains (along with fellow OL Kevin Jennings). The 6’4″, 260-pound senior, an offensive tackle and defensive tackle, improved individually and helped the Panthers to an undefeated regular season and the team’s second consecutive Division 6, Central Region title.

“I worked on a lot of stuff I realized I didn’t do too well my junior year,” Miles-Redmond said. “I worked on small things like footwork. I focused more on that stuff.”

Miles-Redmond enjoyed the postseason all-star action in the Chesapeake Bowl last week, even though his South team (DC, MD, VA, WV all-stars) fell short, 28-17.

“It was a great experience, just being invited and playing with those players,” Miles-Redmond said. “It was a pleasure being around them in my time there. Practice was good. It was straight to business, feeling each other out and getting bonds going. The practices went well. They were up-tempo. Overall, it was a good experience.”
