Johns Excited For Signing Day

Matt Johns

On February 1, 6’4″, 195-pound quarterback prospect Matt Johns will sign a letter of intent with the University of Virginia, the school he committed to on June 11 of last year. Signing Day will “be a day of closure. It’ll be a day where my dream becomes reality,” said the Central Bucks South (Warrenton, PA) star. “I’ll officially be part of the UVa program.”

Continuing, Johns said: “It’s such an honor to be part of such a great school, a great community and football program as well. Four years ago, if you told me I’d be a Division 1 quarterback I don’t think I would’ve believed you. Sophomore year, after I had thrown a few touchdowns passes in a game, one of our assistants on the sideline said I was a Division 1 quarterback. I kept that in the back of my mind. Once the former offensive coordinator from Princeton came to be our coach at CB South (in 2010), he brought a new intensity to the game. Since my first practice with [Dave Rackovan] as our head coach, being a Division 1 quarterback has been on my mind. I’m fortunate to be able to realize it at a place like Virginia.”
