In a February interview with TheSabre.com, Woodberry Forest (VA) junior linebacker Doug Randolph indicated that he was exploring other schools despite being committed to Stanford. Virginia was one of those schools, and three months later the Cavaliers remain in pursuit of the 6’3″, 220-pound prospect.

Defensive coordinator Jim Reid spoke with Randolph earlier in the Evaluation Period, which began on April 16 and lasts through the end of May.

“He said he would love to see me in blue and orange. He just talked about how great UVa football is becoming,” Randolph recalled from his conversation with Coach Reid. “He believes Coach London is building a championship program.”

Randolph was in Charlottesville on April 14 to watch the annual Spring Game. He says he would like to make a return trip before the end of the school year, though nothing has been scheduled.
