Briar Woods TE One To Watch At Camp

Briar Woods (Ashburn, VA) rising senior tight end Cam Serigne performed well at Wake Forest’s camp last weekend, and he left Winston-Salem with a scholarship offer. He’s hoping for more success this Sunday, which is when he is slated to participate in a one-day camp at the University of Virginia.

“[The Virginia coaches] are saying I’m pretty high (on the board). They just want to see me work,” said Serigne, who has spoken with Cavalier assistants Shawn Moore and Bill Lazor. He spoke with Lazor for 45 minutes in a conversation during the Evaluation Period. “I’m going to work out for them. Hopefully that’s the last piece of the puzzle.”

Asked if there was anything specific the Virginia coaches wanted to see this Sunday, Serigne said: “I think they just want to see me run routes and see how I move.”

Receiving is a strength of Serigne’s game. As a junior last season, he had 53 catches for 709 yards and 10 touchdowns for the state champion Falcons. Serigne, who says he runs the 40 in about 4.6 seconds, also showed well at last month’s Nike Football Training Camp in Baltimore.
