Ja’Quan Newton

In the Thursday evening session of last week’s NBPA Top 100, Neumann Goretti (Philadelphia, PA) rising junior point guard Ja’Quan Newton enjoyed the opportunity to compete against two of the top guards in the 2013 class, 5-star point guard Andrew Harrison and 4-star combo guard Allerik Freeman.

“It’s a lot of good players in the 2013 class, especially kids like Andrew Harrison and Freeman. They’re good. They just let me know what I need to work on, letting me know I need to get stronger. I think the area I need to improve on my game is my jump shot. Everybody says, if I can get the mid-range I could be unstoppable. I just need to work on my jump shot. I need to improve every part of my game.”
