Sadiq Olanrewaju
On March 20, about a week after making an unofficial visit to the University of Virginia, Sadiq Olanrewaju (pronounced Sah-deek Oh-lan-ru-ah-ju) became the second member of the class of 2013 to verbally commit to the Cavaliers football program. The 6’6″, 275-pound Salisbury School (Salisbury, CT) offensive tackle is the subject of this latest EDGE Q&A feature, in which he discusses what drew him to the University of Virginia, his close-knit family, and the Cavaliers’ class of 2013.
Connecticut, Rutgers, Temple and West Virginia offered Olanrewaju before he pledged to UVa. He visited Connecticut, Maryland (no offer) and Rutgers prior to touring the Grounds for the first time ever back in March. As he will tell you, his recruitment didn’t end the moment he committed to the ‘Hoos (though it did pretty soon after).
