Maryland has shifted to a hybrid 3-4 defense this season under new defensive coordinator Brian Stewart. So far, the move has paid dividends. The Terps are ranked No. 7 nationally in run defense, allowing just 81.0 yards per game. They are also seventh in total defense, allowing just 257.2 yards per game. Maryland checks in 33rd nationally in scoring defense by allowing just 20.4 points per game.
