A superb effort by the Virginia defense was not enough to overcome bad specials teams play, turnovers, penalties, dropped passes, and stalled drives. Yep, we’ve seen this movie before.

The Hoos finished with the season’s second lowest rushing output (48), second lowest scoring total (10), second lowest number of first downs (14), second highest turnover margin (-3) and a season low 4.24 yards per play. Simply put, that’s a really bad offensive day. There are more problems up front and after a couple of improving weeks, the Virginia offensive line returned to the unit that performed so poorly earlier in the season. The 57.5 grade is the line’s worst of the season.
