Farrar Visits UVa, Eyes Decision

Head coach Mike London is one of the major reasons why the University of Virginia is a top contender for Upland (CA) rising senior athlete Jeffery Farrar . London was unable to be there when the 6’1″, 195-pound prospect made the cross country visit to Charlottesville this past week, but he still managed to make a positive impact.

“Coach London wasn’t there because he was up in Canada watching his son play,” Farrar recalled. “I had a chance to speak with him for an hour over the phone. He was just making sure I really enjoyed the trip. He was bummed out he couldn’t meet me there in person, but he made sure I was taken care of and he answered any questions I had.”

Generally speaking, Farrar said the Virginia visit “went well. I enjoyed myself.”

The visit — Farrar’s first ever trip to UVa — began last Friday morning. The Upland star watched the football team work out and get in some 7-on-7 competition. Farrar ate lunch with the coaches and watched film. He spoke with running backs coach Larry Lewis (his primary recruiter), safeties coach Anthony Poindexter and receivers coach Marques Hagans (who he met on Saturday). He also met with an academic counselor.
