Entering the 2013 season, Virginia must replace 212 from 2012. That’s how many tackles highly productive linebackers Steve Greer and LaRoy Reynolds combined to make last season. Certainly Daquan Romero and Henry Coley , who combined for 12 starts last fall, will have a big role for the linebackers, but several young players are in the mix as well.
During Tuesday’s practice, one of those fresh faces had a big day. Redshirt freshman Mark Hall swiped two interceptions, including one that easily was a pick-6 in any format. The product of Virginia Beach’s Green Run High School has made the most of the first two days of practice while fellow linebacker Demeitre Brim has been held out with a recovering hamstring.
