Steve Fairchild

One big question that has surrounded the hire of new Virginia offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild is exactly what type of offense he will run. Typically with a coach that has made several stops along the way during his coaching career, one attempts to find clues based on who he has coached with and the schemes used at those colleges. Usually, it’s pretty easy.

At the Cavaliers’ Media Day, Fairchild offered a few hints. He did not reveal the schemes per se but discussed the attitude and execution concepts he’ll try to instill at UVa. Not surprisingly, it starts with toughness and ball security.
