Evan Butts felt he would have a larger role in his team’s offense this season. He was right. Episcopal Academy (Newtown Square, PA) has consistently gone to its 6’4″, 227-pound senior tight end, who has 32 receptions for about 650 yards and eight touchdowns through eight games.

“I’m doing pretty well so far this year,” said Butts, who had five catches for 98 yards and two scores in a 30-0 win over William Penn Charter last week. “I just want to do whatever it takes to help out team win.”

Episcopal Academy went undefeated in 2012 and was undefeated through five games in the 2013 season before falling to Lawrenceville School of New Jersey, a game in which the Churchmen found themselves down 42-20 in the 3rd quarter before rallying. Despite the loss, Butts was pleased with his team’s resiliency.
