Commitment Profile: Brandon Wilson

After attending Victory Christian in North Carolina his freshman year of high school, Brandon Wilson transferred to West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida. Since arriving, Wilson, who is now a senior and a University of Virginia commitment, has impressed with his abilities on the football field.

“About two years ago, he was 218 pounds. Now he is 245 pounds. He has definitely grown, but he remains as athletic and dynamic as he was two years ago,” West Orange head coach Bob Head said of Wilson. “He has got a passion to get to the football, which usually pays off for you in the end. He has a nose for the ball and is a good team player. His recruiting was off the charts because he is extremely strong, well put-together, and he can move for a big guy. I think in the future he’ll only be better. His best football is ahead.”

Wilson credits former teammates with helping him realize what it takes to be successful.

“When I got here I was behind some people… some good players,” recalled the 6’4” senior. “Corey Vereen, who plays at Tennessee, played a whole bunch my first year here. I saw what my role would be as a senior. I kept that in my head.”
