4-Star Combo Guard Kyle Guy Chooses Hoos

UVa head coach Tony Bennett visited Lawrence Central (Indianapolis, IN) multiple times since open gym began this late summer/fall, making no secret as to how much he coveted combo guard Kyle Guy. Coach Bennett got his man today, when the 4-star junior announced his pledge to the Hoos just days after visiting UVa for the first time ever.

Guy chose Virginia over numerous other Division 1 scholarship offers that included in-state programs such as Butler, Indiana and Purdue. Arizona State, California, Iowa, Iowa State, NC State, Ole Miss and Xavier are among the out-of-state schools that offered. ESPN, Rivals, Scout and 247Sports all rank Guy as a 4-star prospect. ESPN has him as the no. 39 overall recruit in the nation in the class of 2016, while Rivals (no. 60), 247Sports (no. 63) and Scout (no. 89) rank him among the Top 100 juniors in the nation as well. Scout National Recruiting Director Evan Daniels tweeted the following about the talented guard shortly after the commitment news broke.

Guy is the second class of 2016 prospect to commit to Virginia, joining New York combo guard Ty Jerome. Stay tuned to TheSabre for more on the Cavaliers’ newest pledge.
