Ware County (Waycross, GA) senior Steven Wright verbally committed to the University of Virginia this weekend, TheSabre.com has confirmed. Wright, a 6’4″, 235-pound defensive end, pledged to the Hoos while on Grounds on an official visit this weekend. Two other prospects — outside linebacker Eric Gallon and defensive end/outside linebacker Naji Abdullah — also committed to UVa this weekend.
Wright earned AAAAA first-team all-region honors for his performance this past season. He chose Virginia over Central Florida, Nebraska and North Carolina. Florida, Mississippi State and Tennessee expressed interest as well.
UVa now has 21 commitments in the class of 2015.
