The Virginia football program has landed a verbal commitment from Tre Harbison, a 5’11”, 205-pound tailback prospect out of Crest High School in Shelby, North Carolina. Harbison, a junior, revealed his decision on Twitter last night.

Harbison rushed for 1,855 yards and 36 touchdowns this past season, helping Crest to the 3A state championship in the process. In addition to Virginia, he reportedly held offers from Boston College, East Carolina, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and West Virginia, among others.
With this latest commit, Virginia now boasts six verbal commitments in the class of 2016. Four of the six pledges are sure-fire offensive players, including QB Sonny Abramson, Harbison, WR Cole Blackman and WR Joseph Reed. Neru NShaka could end up as a receiver as well, though he may be more of an “athlete” recruit. Landan Word, a linebacker/athlete, rounds out the class as it currently stands.
Stay tuned for more on Harbison’s commitment. In the meantime, check out his junior season highlights below.
