Reports: UVa Offers Class Of 2016 Guard Andrew Jones

Multiple outlets report that UVa has extended a scholarship offer to Andrew Jones, a 6’4″, 180-pound shooting guard out of MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas.

Jones, who is rated a 3-star prospect by Rivals.com, reportedly held scholarship offers from Baylor, Kansas State, Miami and SMU, among others, heading into this week, when he compete with the Pro Skills (TX) squad at the Nike Peach Jam.

Jones had an excellent week at Peach Jam, averaging 18.4 points and 4 rebounds in five games. He scored 30 points against Houston Hoops and 23 against the Las Vegas Prospects. In 17 games on the Nike EYBL circuit prior to the Peach Jam, Jones averaged 11.8 points per contest.

MacArthur finished with a 27-9 record in 2014/2015, reaching the Class 6A state semifinals. Jones scored 18 points in a losing effort against Plano West in the state semis.

Andrew’s sister, Alexis Jones, is a rising red-shirt junior on the Baylor women’s basketball team. She attended Duke for two years before transferring to Baylor.
