Sunshine State RB Laderrien Wilson Chooses Hoos

Osceola (Kissimmee, FL) senior running back Laderrien Wilson told TheSabre.com last week that he had a “good” official visit experience in Charlottesville the weekend of September 11-13. The 5’10”, 210-pound prospect added that he thought he could “fit in with the offense” and that he “enjoyed the school so much.”

Apparently, the official visit was enough to sway Wilson to verbally commit to UVa over Florida State, Miami and Western Michigan. That’s what he did today and he becomes the 24th member of the Cavaliers’ class of 2016.

Wilson is one of two running back prospects in Virginia’s 2016 class, joining Crest (Shelby, N.C.) standout Tre Harbison, who took to Twitter to congratulate the Osceola star on his decision.

Everyone welcome @LaDerrienW32 to the UVA family

Wilson, who is rated a 3-star prospect by 247Sports, Rivals and Scout, carried the ball 415 times for 3,071 yards and 42 touchdowns his sophomore and junior seasons combined. Through four games his senior season, Wilson has rushed for 522 yards and seven scores. He rushed for 210 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Winter Haven last weekend… you can view those highlights below.

Stay tuned to TheSabre.com for more on this commitment in the coming days.
