University of Virginia commitment Matt Terrell and Western Albemarle High School (Charlottesville, VA) defensive end Osiris Crutchfield were among the recruits in Scott Stadium for UVa’s 42-34 win over the Duke Blue Devils.
Terrell, one of five recruits that have signed grant-in-aid paperwork with Virginia, plans to enroll in January of 2016. The 6’4″, 225-pound senior played defensive end and tight end for head coach Frank Rocco at Liberty Christian Academy (Lynchburg, VA), which finished the 2015 season with a 7-4 record. When his signing was announced, he was listed on VirginiaSports.com as a linebacker. Look for Terrell to fill a outside linebacker/defensive end-type role assuming he does stay on defense.
Crutchfield, a 6’4″, 225-pound senior, received a scholarship offer from the Cavaliers late last month. He earned Conference 29 Defensive Player of the Year honors this season while seeing time at defensive end and defensive tackle. Crutchfield, who as of this writing remains uncommitted, is also considering an offer from VMI as well as interest from Richmond, Towson and William & Mary.
In addition to Terrell and Crutchfield, TheSabre.com confirmed that the following prospects attended Virginia versus Duke. As of this writing, none of the prospects have been offered by the Cavaliers.
