Following a conversation with new UVA head coach Bronco Mendenhall, Crest (Shelby, N.C.) senior tailback Tre Harbison plans to follow through with his original commitment and will enroll on Grounds next month.

“I’ll be in Charlottesville in the spring,” the 5’10”, 210-pound prospect wrote in a Direct Message via Twitter.

Former Cavalier head coach Mike London was a major reason why Harbison verbally committed to Virginia this past spring. Ultimately it appears as though Harbison will don the orange and blue despite London’s departure, and Mendenhall is a significant reason why.

“I’m impressed with Coach Mendenhall. He knows how to turn around a program and keep a consistent level of success. I think he is a great fit at UVA,” Harbison wrote.
