Of the four Florida high school seniors who committed to the University of Virginia prior to Mike London’s departure, only one — Chamberlain (Tampa, FL) cornerback Deedrick Daniels Jr. — remains committed to the Hoos.
Dillard (Fort Lauderdale, FL) linebacker Kenneth Ruff, who is now a Syracuse commit, and Hallandale (FL) wide receiver Neru N’Shaka, now a Toledo commit, had moved on prior to last night, when Corey Bender of Scout.com reported that Osceola (Kissimmee, FL) running back Laderrien Wilson has de-committed from Virginia and will make an official visit to Maryland the weekend of January 15-17. Maryland has hired two former Cavalier coaches this offseason, including London and Chris Beatty.
Prior to the Scout.com report, AroundOsceola.com reported last week that the 5’10”, 210-pound Wilson would take visits to Georgia Tech and Louisville in January. The status of those visits is uncertain, however.

UVA still has one running back in the class of 2016 in Crest (Shelby, N.C.) product Tre Harbison, who will enroll on Grounds later this month and is already listed on the Virginia.edu directory. Harbison, an AP all-state selection as a senior, led Crest to consecutive 3AA state championships in 2014 and 2015. He’ll join seniors Taquan Mizzell and Albert Reid, junior Daniel Hamm, sophomores Jordan Ellis and Olamide Zaccheaus (a RB/WR), and red-shirt freshman Chris Sharp on Virginia’s tailback depth chart next season.
In addition to Harbison and three other early enrollees (TE Christian Baumgardner, PK Holland Corbett and LB Matt Terrell), Virginia has verbal commitments from 20 high school seniors.
