Millbrook Running Back PK Kier Commits To Virginia

On June 2, the University of Virginia football program offered a scholarship to Millbrook (Winchester, VA) running back prospect PK Kier. At the time Kier was committed to James Madison University; however, he made no secret that he was very much considering the opportunity to join the Cavaliers. The Virginia offer proved to be too much for the 5’11”, 205-pound rising senior to turn down, as this evening he announced that he has flipped his commitment from the Dukes to the Wahoos.

Kier, whose uncle (Mark Cooke) played football for UVA from 1987-1990, finished with 1,352 yards rushing and 19 total touchdowns his junior season. He added 143 yards receiving on just seven receptions. Virginia is recruiting him to play its “speed back” position, which means the Hoos now have two potential “speed backs” in its 2017 Class – Kier and Lake Braddock (Burke, VA) star Lamont Atkins.

Virginia now boasts eight commitments in total in the class of 2017. Joining Kier and Atkins are quarterback Lindell Stone, offensive lineman Tyler Fannin, defensive lineman Tommy Christ, and defensive backs Joey Blount, Zachariah Burton and Germane Crowell.
