Virginia basketball head coach Tony Bennett is one of four finalists for the 2018 Werner Ladder Naismith Men’s College Coach of the Year award, the Atlanta Tipoff Club has announced. Rick Barnes of Tennessee, Chris Holtmann of Ohio State, and Villanova’s Jay Wright are the three other finalists.
Bennett, who has guided the Hoos to a 31-2 record and ACC regular season and tournament titles so far this season, was named the 2018 Henry Iba National Coach of the Year by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association last week and earlier earned 2018 Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year honors.
The Naismith Coach of the Year winner will be announced on April 1 at Pearl Stable in San Antonio, Texas.
