Virginia Football Extends Second Offer At Texas High School

Offensive tackle/defensive lineman Landon Peterson of Permian High School claimed a scholarship offer from the University of Virginia on Monday (May 21).

A successful May for Peterson began with SMU extending a scholarship offer on the first of the month. Colorado, Texas Tech, Baylor, and now Virginia have followed suit. Washington State, Tulsa and New Mexico State headline the schools that had offered the 6’6”, 265-pound rising senior prospect previously.

If the Odessa (TX) school sounds familiar to Virginia fans, its because the Cavaliers earlier offered Permian dual-threat quarterback Peyton Powell. Powell, who is also a member of the class of 2019, took to Twitter to share a message with his teammate.

Whether or not Powell’s tweet foreshadows future success for the Hoos at Permian remains to be seen. In the meantime, check out Peterson’s junior season highlights below.
