Virginia Football Scores Third Offensive Line Commitment In 2019 Class

Virginia football landed offensive line commitments on June 18 (Jonathan Leech) and June 22 (Kariem Al Soufi). Prior to each recruit’s announcement, Cavalier offensive line coach Garett Tujague took to Twitter and made a statement of his own.

Coach Tujague was at it again on June 28, making the following tweet:

Virginia fans had to wait days instead of hours to discover the identity of this latest offensive line commit, but now we know. Zachary Teter, a 6’5”, 290-pound rising senior out of Lake Gibson High School in Lakeland, Florida, has chosen UVA over offers from Arizona, California, Cincinnati, Louisville, Missouri, and Temple, among others. He also considered Ivy League opportunities before committing to the Hoos.

Teter earned All-County second-team honors as a result of his junior season performance. A two-sport athlete, he plays football and wrestles at Lake Gibson.

An excellent student, Teter carries a 4.2 GPA according to BearInsider.com. The same site reports that Zachary is the son of Doug Teter, who serves as the head athletic trainer for Major League Baseball’s Detroit Tigers.

Virginia football’s 2019 Class now boasts 17 commitments in total, including three offensive line recruits and five student athletes from the state of Florida.
