Class Of 2019 F/C Kadin Shedrick Names Top 8; Reportedly Will Visit Virginia

On Tuesday (August 15), Holly Springs (N.C.) power forward/center Kadin Shedrick announced a final eight of Florida, Indiana, Louisville, Providence, Virginia, Wake Forest, Wisconsin and Xavier.

Shedrick, a 6’10”, 200-pound rising senior, has seen his recruitment take off within the past two months. He received 15 scholarship offers in July – Xavier, Wake Forest, Wisconsin and Providence were part of that group. Indiana, UVA, Louisville and Florida are four of six schools Shedrick has claimed offers from this month. Head coach Tony Bennett offered the Tar Heel State standout on August 10.

Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.com reports that Shedrick made an unofficial visit to Wake Forest last week and plans to take an official visit to Xavier (August 15-17) before making an unofficial to Virginia this coming weekend. Stockrisers spoke with the versatile post regarding his final eight, and you can click here to view his comments.

According to Phenom Hoops, which provided the below scouting report following its 2018 Champion Showcase, Shedrick averaged almost 17 points, almost 10 rebounds and over 2 blocks per game last season as a junior. The Holly Springs standout averaged 14.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game in six games with Garner Road at the Adidas Summer Championships last month.

“Shedrick has really established himself as a legit high major level prospect over the last six months and now that we’ve seen him a couple times this summer he 100% fits the mold as a Top 100 prospect. His body has improved significantly to go with an incredible motor on the offensive end. You can tell within a few minutes of watching him that he’s incredibly comfortable within his frame. Shedrick possesses the ability to turn over both shoulders and has started to develop a consistent mid-range game to go with that 6’10 frame. Without a doubt a can’t miss prospect.” – Miles Masercola’s report, which was cited in this article on Phenom Hoops.

Green Down To Six, Eliminates UVA

While the Hoos are making a push for Shedrick, they are out of the running for top class of 2019 backcourt prospect, Josh Green. Green, who attends IMG Academy in Florida, revealed a final six of Arizona, Kansas, North Carolina, UNLV, USC and Villanova on August 13. Virginia did offer the 5-star recruit.
