Top In-State Offensive Line Prospect Jakai Moore Set For Virginia Official Visit

Virginia football was not included as one of Patriot (Nokesville, VA) class of 2019 offensive lineman Jakai Moore’s top seven schools when he released the list this past June. Instead, Moore named Clemson, Miami, North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina and Virginia Tech in his top group.

Undeterred, the Cavalier coaches – especially offensive line coach Garett Tujague – have maintained their pursuit of the 6’6”, 305-pound senior, who would take in a game in Charlottesville this season and is now is set to take an official visit to UVA this weekend.

Moore may still head outside the Commonwealth for his college career. In fact, leaving the state may be the more likely scenario at this point, but the in-state Hoos have a chance.

“He made an official visit to South Carolina in the spring,” retired Patriot head coach Brud Bicknell said, updating Moore’s recruitment to TheSabre.com. “He has taken unofficial visits to everybody up-and-down the East Coast, including UVA. He has been on UVA’s campus several times. To UVA’s credit, especially Coach Tujague, Jakai is scheduled to go down to Virginia officially this weekend. Coach Tujague never took ‘no’ for an answer. Coach Tujague has come to practice and has stayed on Jakai a long time. I think they have a great relationship. You never know.”
