The Virginia men’s basketball team played its Blue-White Scrimmage last weekend and will play two closed door scrimmages before the start of the season on Monday, Nov. 6. The Cavaliers face UConn and Maryland in those ‘secret’ scrimmages before Tarleton State comes to town for the opener.
With fans eagerly waiting for those two weeks to pass, there has been plenty to occupy their thoughts this week. In addition to the first glimpse at the team at the intrasquad scrimmage at the John Paul Jones Arena last season, some rankings hit the internet as well. The Hoos sat just outside of the top 25 in both The Associated Press poll and the coaches’ poll. They were also a few spots back in the initial KenPom numbers (No. 33).
