Cole Geer, 2025 Quarterback, Commits To Virginia Football

The Virginia football team added its second commitment for the 2025 recruiting class on Sunday night. Deerfield Academy quarterback Cole Geer made the call for the Hoos, joining Trinity Episcopal receiver Isaiah Robinson as a Cavalier commit for this cycle.

The Massachusetts prospect chose UVA over offers from Boston College, Virginia Tech, Connecticut, and others. He visited Virginia twice this past summer and also had visits at Notre Dame for the Irish Invasion camp and Duke.

He announced his choice on social media.

Geer joins high school teammate Triston Ward as a Virginia commit. The Class of 2024 receiver chose UVA in June, which followed a visit shared by Geer. The 6’1″, 195-pound quarterback is the first Cavalier commit at the position for either the 2024 or 2025 class. The Hoos started true freshman Anthony Colandrea in six games this past season so it is important to set up the roster for future seasons in this spot.

The Deerfield quarterback participated in an Elite 11 Regional event in May where reports focused on his athleticism. Geer posted the highest SPARQ score, which measures overall athleticism, at 111.15. The testing includes the 40-yard dash, the pro agility shuttle, vertical jump, and other elements.

Geer carries a 4-star rating from ESPN and a 3-star from both Rivals and On3, while 247 Sports has not yet released its rankings. Mike Farrell Sports’ scouting team tagged Geer as the No. 44 quarterback nationally in the Class of 2025.
