Grayson Reid, 2025 Offensive Lineman, Commits To Virginia Football

The Virginia football team welcomed many prospects to Charlottesville on recruiting visits in recent weeks. This weekend, one of those visitors made the decision to commit to the Cavaliers. Grayson Reid, a 2025 offensive lineman out of Washington D.C., made the call on Saturday.

Reid made the announcement on social media.

A junior at the Maret School, Reid plays both guard and tackle on the offensive line. At 6’3″, 270 pounds, he projects as a guard most likely at the next level. He carries a 3-star ranking from 247Sports and Rivals. 247 ranks him as the No. 4 prospect in D.C. and the No. 55 interior offensive lineman nationally in his class.

Reid chose Virginia over offers from numerous ACC schools and other programs as well. That list included Virginia Tech, Duke, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Maryland, Indiana, East Carolina, and JMU. He attended camp at UVA last summer and made a Junior Day visit on Jan. 27 with the Hoos making a priority push for the prospect with Ivy League offers as well.

With Reid’s commitment, Virginia now has two lineman in the fold for the 2025 class (4 total commitments to date). Jon Adair out of Lipscomb Academy in Nashville made his decision for the Wahoos in December. It’s clearly a targeted position in this class after UVA took only two offensive lineman out of high school in 2023 followed by only three offensive lineman in 2024. Grant Elllinger (Naperville Central/Illinois) projects as an interior lineman out of that 2024 trio, while Benjamin York (Lake Braddock/Virginia) and Dane Wleklinski (Dublin Jerome/Ohio) both project at tackle.

High school highlights for Reid can be found on his Hudl profile here. Maret produced a 12-1 record last season.
