The Virginia football team opened preseason practice for year two of the Tony Elliott era Wednesday. Elliott said he liked the tempo on day one.
“When we’re on the practice field, we’re going to go and we’re going to practice fast,” Elliott said. “We’re trying to get 40 reps in a 20-minute period – that’s every 30 seconds. We actually finished in about 17 minutes so the guys were moving. For me, it’s the core values. The tempo of practice. The organization of practice and then we’ll clean up all the details during the sit-down meetings with the players.”
